Sydney

December of 2016, I flew to Sydney, Australia for the second time!

But I have to admit that the first was really the most unforgettable (September 2016):

New Delhi, India

February 2016.

I visited a country that I never thought I ever would: India.

New Delhi to be specific... and boy, was I blown away.

I have been thinking long and hard about how to describe my experience.. I guess the easiest way to describe it was that it was a total sensory overload of colours, sounds and flavours that form the most euphoric, but unexpected, harmony.

A New Error -Moderat

I first heard this track in a Louis Vuitton boutique.

A reviewer on PopMatters noted that:
[...] “A New Error” [...] has a bit of a melancholy mood about it as well, though its momentum is more of a march than a swagger.  The machine beat is very simple and drum-machine-derived, centering attention away from the rhythm tracks for the first and last time on the album.  The synths contain the slightly detuned erroring of the song’s namesake. The anthemic buzz bass recalls The Human League’s “The Dignity of Labour”: noble, proudly dated, and poised for world domination.

Insecure Soundtrack

I was on a 5.5 hour flight yesterday and I binge watched Insecure written by Issa Rae.

I absolutely love this show. It touches on issues that all 20-30's go through such as dating, work satisfaction and friendship.

I didn't know I needed this and watching the show has been rather therapeutic. There's almost always a clutter in my mind but this show helped me compartmentalize the different ideas, memories and emotions from my life and it helped me come to terms with some things going on right now.

What I didn't know was that I needed the soundtrack of the show in my life too.

I was pleasantly surprised to see this in the credits: Solange Knowles is the music consultant (article by Vox).

Re-listen to the tracks from each episode, head over to the show's official Spotify page (link here).

Tumi V3 International Carry-on

In December 2016 I purchased the Tumi V3 International Carry on in the colour Pacific Blue (link) on sale. The product sells for around $530 before taxes but it came up to $360 with all the taxes included.

Was it a planned purchase? No. But I did need a carry-on luggage, though.
Did it leave a dent in my bank account? Yes.
But do I regret it? No.

And that's all that matters right? How many luggages will one buy in a lifetime? 😝

It's light, easy to clean and has a sleek design. It's my new best friend :)

Ciudad de México

October 2016.

I visited Mexico City just in time for la Dia de los muertos.
I was smitten by the vibrant city and coming from Canada, the warm sun was absolutely therapeutic!

Château Versailles & Notre Dame

January 2017.

I visited Château Versailles!
To think that people once resided within these walls...

I believe that the histories that will be written about this court after we are gone will be better and more entertaining than any novel, and I am afraid that those who come after us will not be able to believe them and think they are just fairy tales.
